We run a number of internal competitions throughout the year. The competitions...

- are fun
- give you a photographic challenge
- are a chance to show off your best images
- offer the opportunity to get constructive feedback on your images
- let you learn from others images

Everyone is encouraged to enter, there are different grades and you don't have to be a photographic expert to take part.

2010 Ladder Competitions:

1st Competition: 23rd March - “Nature - Close Encounters” and “Open”
Nature photography depicts living, untamed animals
and uncultivated plants in a natural habitat, natural landscapes including
geology and the wide diversity of natural phenomena, from insects to
icebergs. Any manipulation or modification to the original image is limited to minor retouching of blemishes and must not alter the content of the original scene.

2nd Competition: 25th May - “Motion” and “Open”

3rd Competition: 27th July -“From the Kitchen” and “Open”
Let your imagination wander for this category, as long as what you photograph has come from the kitchen

4th Competition: 12th October -“Lighting / Flash Photography” and “Open”
Again let you imagination go wild, use the knowledge you have learnt from some of the lighting workshops or experiment using your flash/s

Entrants need to have their entries and completed entry form to the Competition Secretary
at least 10 days before the club night on which they are judged.
