2021 Update no.16 Hit the Street

Covid-19 – Delta Alert Level 2

As we usually do in level 2, we will meet up as usual but with the relevant restrictions in place and no supper.  We will have the QR code for you to use at the door, along with sanitiser.  You will need to wear a mask under Delta Level 2 and we will have the chairs spaced out 2 metres apart.

Due to the postponement of our exhibition we had a spare night to fill in.  With our Street photography fieldtrip coming up I thought I could take you though the genre, the different techniques you can use in capturing a good street photograph, and the thoughts and tips I use when out and about on the street.

Finding your Creativity with Jordyn O’Keeffe

Jordyn has been teaching adults how to be creative through the medium of photography in Wellington for the past Fifteen years.  She holds an Advanced Diploma of Photography from Massey University, and her work has appeared in Next magazine.

Jordyn’s teaching also incorporates photography and creative mentoring for individuals and small groups and running residential workshops through her business “Shot in the Dark“.

She also enjoys working in other mediums, in particular painting and mixed media and is passionate about getting students to see the benefits in their busy day-to-day lives of being creative.   She has completed her first year of an Advanced Diploma of Creativity at the Learning Connexion.  She also holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History from Victoria University.

Jordyn will go through some of the techniques she uses to elicit creativity in your work.

Annual accounts – reviewer

We are looking for a chartered accountant to review the club’s annual accounts.  If you know someone who would be willing to undertake this task in exchange for a couple of bottles of wine or equivalent please contact our treasurer at treasurer@huttcameraclub.co.nz .  The club’s financial year ends on 30 September and the reviewed accounts are typically presented to the club at our AGM which this year is on 23 November.
